AFTERCORE RECOVERY
A downloadable game
Facility Decontamination Training Module
The following simulation was developed for personnel of the Erratic State Archives assigned to post-incident recovery operations.
Following containment failures, ESA facilities may experience structural collapse, biological contamination, and anomalous organic spread throughout interior sectors.
In these cases, recovery teams are deployed to sterilize the site before structural reclamation can begin.
Your task is simple:
Burn the contamination.
Restore access to the facility.
Recover what remains.
Using a thermal purge unit, personnel must remove invasive biomass covering corridors, laboratories, and containment areas.
As the contamination recedes, fragments of the event may become visible:
-
damaged equipment
-
emergency barricades
-
abandoned research stations
-
and traces of the personnel who once worked there.
All information uncovered during cleanup should be considered secondary to the decontamination objective.
Recovery personnel are reminded that some anomalies may remain active even after apparent neutralization.
Proceed accordingly.
Features:
Thermal Decontamination Gameplay
Use a controlled flamethrower to burn away layers of anomalous biomass covering a ruined facility.
Voxel Contamination System
Every surface is consumed by a living contamination that must be removed piece by piece.
Environmental Storytelling
As the organism is burned away, the facility beneath slowly reveals evidence of the incident.
Ruined ESA Facility
Explore collapsed laboratories, damaged containment zones, and abandoned security sectors.
NOTICE TO RECOVERY PERSONNEL
This simulation is based on archived recovery procedures from a real ESA incident.
Certain elements of the event record have been intentionally removed or altered.
If structural abnormalities appear during the simulation:
-
Continue decontamination.
-
Do not interrupt the purge cycle.
-
Do not attempt to access sealed sectors.
The simulation will end once the core contamination is exposed.
